Wendy, like the fairy tern, needs only a minimal nest.

It is surrounded by large old trees, and if you are bird watchers, you'll enjoy the fairy terns.

It is also a frequently used site for Fairy Terns which have been recorded as breeding there.

There is a nesting colony of Fairy Terns on the coast adjacent to the park.

Outside of the breeding season fairy terns form flocks on the harbour, often around Tapora.

Little Penguins and Fairy Terns have bred there in the past.

Along here we would frequently see white fairy terns, which, half-dove, half-hummingbird, flitted among the trees.

It also supports significant numbers of Fairy Terns.

The Fairy Tern was consequently uplisted to Vulnerable status in 2008.

We saw large numbers on the crossing and thousands of lesser and brown noddies and fairy terns were breeding in the trees near the shore.
