Analysts said that it is inevitable that first-generation products will have bugs.

But, as one rival investment banker put it, "This is a first-generation product."

"It's a first-generation product that leaves some potential for the next-generation product."

These first-generation products may look clunky, but like all other digital products, they seem destined to evolve almost overnight.

The system was more of a prototype device than a first-generation product, and it was sold primarily to research institutions.

"These are first-generation products," said Jackie Fenn, an analyst at the Gartner Group.

"This is a first-generation product with a very short plasma half life - it enhances your image for only 12 seconds," he said.

Tintri shipped its first-generation products in April 2011 followed by the second generation in November 2011.

But Dynepo is a first-generation product.
