A gentleman has been waiting here for some time to see you.

When I stepped out of her door, two gentlemen were waiting for me.

The two other gentlemen waited at the door to let her pass.

"A gentleman has been waiting to see you, sir," said the assistant manager as he handed me our room key.

"No, the two gentlemen are waiting for you outside in the car."

"The gentleman is waiting at the door, sir," stated the attendant.

And, behind me, two gentlemen were also waiting without showing any readiness, as I did, to lose their temper.

"Yes, gentlemen, my guards watch and wait," the princess said.

You gentlemen wait here; I'll see what I can do.

"The gentlemen with the guns can wait here," she says.
