She added that representatives of other human service organizations attend the health fairs and barbecues to offer information about their programs.

The group holds health fairs, offers college scholarships and assists teen-aged mothers.

Approximately 1,500 people receive health information and screenings at health fairs and events throughout the year.

"Everything, from weddings to health fairs, goes on here day and night," she said.
