He was given the honorary rank of general in 1878.

In 1921, he was given the honorary rank of major general and placed on the retired list.

He was however allowed to retain the honorary rank of Colonel.

He retired again on 26 January 1924 with the honorary rank of major general.

While occupying that office, he held the honorary rank of general.

He retired with the honorary rank of colonel in 1880.

He retired in 1948 and was granted the honorary rank of general.

They do, however, receive the pay and pension of their honorary rank.

On that day he was awarded the honorary rank of Major.

In 1885 he was promoted to the honorary rank of captain.
