"Parents have to take a greater interest in their kids," he said.

"All day long, I talk about serious things, but here we celebrate education and the best in young kids."

Other times, illness in kids is not so easy to figure out.

Why do you want them to inspire fear in kids?

Instead they talk about the lady down the street who takes in kids for a few bucks a day.

Specifically, the hope is to create that reaction in kids.

In kids under 5, the rates rose even more, jumping 160 percent from 1980 to 1994.

"I think it is a good investment in my kids," he said.

"Music has the opportunity to develop confidence in kids," he says.

We're learning that we have to invest more heavily in kids.
