So I think the proper area of concern is what the third parties know and can do who have installed apps on your phone.
Those that don't include this ability in their stock software may acquire it by installing appropriate mobile apps.

So this is a cautionary note, just in general, about not installing apps that you don't trust.
Beside, you can always install new apps on it.
