The leaves are roughly oval in shape but are intricately divided into many lobes of varying shapes.

The leaf blades are up to 12 centimeters long and are intricately divided into many subdivided lobes, the smallest segments linear or lance-shaped and pointed.

The woolly or hairy leaves may be up to 15 centimeters long and are divided intricately into many lobes with curled or twisted tips.

The leaflets may also be intricately divided into small segments (see image at left).
