From July 1751 this regiment was known as the 5th Regiment of Foot.
It was known as the 7th Regiment of Foot until 1881.
The unit is presently known as the 154th Regiment of the Territorial Troops Militias.
They could trace their origins to 1846, when they were known as the Regiment of Ludhiana.
It became well known as the "Black Regiment" because, for a time, it had several companies of African American soldiers.
The 8th Virginia was known as the German Regiment.
Presently this unit is known as the 154th Regiment of the Territorial Militia Troops.
These batteries were known as the Regiment of Canadian Artillery.
After 1782 it had a county designation added, becoming known as the 55th (Westmorland) Regiment of Foot.
It was also known as the 4th German Regiment.
