In the market, the worries are most clearly manifested among longer-term maturities.
Investors seeking longer-term maturities are also offered yields of 7.43 percent for bonds due in 2003 and 7.674 percent in 2008.
Selling was particularly active among longer-term maturities.
Among longer-term maturities, the Treasury's 9 1/8 percent 10-year notes were offered at a price of 107 17/32, up 6/32, to yield 7.99 percent.
Buying of longer-term maturities had carried over from Friday's strong advance, but with that demand filled by the afternoon, sellers prevailed.
