In 1916, he started his own meat business at the Broadway Market.
After serving one term, he returned to his wholesale and retail meat business.
"You don't look like people in the meat business," said Viki.
This time people in the meat business think the increase will be more persistent.
His father was in the meat business, and both parents made their ambitions for him clear: doctor or lawyer.
He was "born to a well off family who had been in the meat business for six generations".
And he said the schedule of the meat business actually helped to make the area more secure than might be expected.
He started with the meat business because it was the most obvious opportunity.
After the war he married, and moved to Australia where he ran a meat business.
"It was a good vehicle to stay in touch with the meat business," he said.
