Among features preserved in the restoration are the old federal courtroom, which now serves as one of the law school's moot courtrooms.

One of the original courtrooms from the building's former use as a courthouse has been restored as the University of Memphis moot courtroom.

"We hope to construct a state-of-the-art conference center and a moot courtroom with a three-judge bench and jury box and lawyer's tables," he said.

In December 2005, the school's moot courtroom was used for a real civil trial after the Marion County Courthouse was damaged the previous month.

That would be schools like Intermediate School 292 in East New York, which has turned some of its 500 spaces into offices and a moot courtroom.

The building also houses classrooms, seminar rooms, a moot courtroom and the Diana M. Priestly Law Library.

The Columbus School of Law is on the main campus and is self-contained in its own building with moot courtrooms, a library, chapel, classrooms, and offices.

The Turner Building is an 87,672 sq. ft. four-story brick structure that contains moot courtrooms, a model law office, classrooms, and an administrative wing.

Historically, the most junior student barristers were only permitted to watch moot court trials and stood within the bar of the moot courtroom.
