The last examination cycle, in 2005, had over 2000 applicants from more than 100 teachers.

When it was first announced in March 1994 the team attracted over 600 applicants.

In 2009, there were over 800 applicants from around the world for the 200 spots.

Selection is said to be highly competitive, with only 60 to 80 pages selected a year out of over 7,000 applicants.

They had been selected from over 15,000 applicants showing heavy demand for the University even at its inception.

Donald Houston was selected over 5,000 applicants, 100 of whom were screen tested.

"New Jersey has turned down over 35,000 applicants and 10,000 of them were actually known felons," she said.

Casino officials have had over 20,000 applicants for 1,500 positions before opening.

Over 50,000 applicants took the test; less than half that number took it in the winter.

The class covered over 450 applicants whose applications had been indefinitely placed on hold by the government.
