In 1681 he gained the post of organist at the Thomaskirche, a position which required conversion to Protestantism.
Following his return to Bratislava in 1908, he accepted the post of organist at the St. Martin's Cathedral.
In 1968 he took up the post of organist and master of the choir at Salisbury Cathedral, a position which he held until 1997.
