There are three different resource types: gold, wood and rum.
For each resource type, questions to be addressed are:
Variables of the "resource" type represent references to resources from external sources.
The in game economy is driven by a number of resource types.
Players can hire a merchant using dark matter to trade one resource type for another.
It's subdivided further by resource type, and the names are mostly straight-forward.
Palace districts supply one of each resource type (other than Hero) per turn.
And, of course, it is possible to model systems using a mixture of resource types.
In this case, the provided resources include various resource types that teams require to be effective.
As of version 0.78 people can hire a merchant to trade one resource type for another.
