He reverted to the rank of captain on 20 June 1946.

Following the war, he would revert back to his permanent rank of Captain.

After the war he continued as an officer, initially reverting to the rank of major.

On July 15, 1919, he reverted to the rank of lieutenant colonel.

In 1950 he reverted to the rank of major to join the 1st Bn.

After the war, Dodge remained in the army and reverted to the rank of first lieutenant.

He served in this capacity until 1946 and reverted to his substantive rank of Captain.
