Centroscymnus is a genus of squaliform sleeper sharks in the family Somniosidae.

Amphipods, crabs, sleeper sharks and hagfish are all scavengers.

The Azores dogfish, Scymnodalatias garricki, is a very rare sleeper shark of the family Somniosidae.

Because food is relatively scarce on the deep sea floor the sleeper shark is able to store food in its capacious stomach.
