The Downeaster makes five southbound trips and five northbound trips every day.

(Fewer calls were made on the southbound trips.)

The southbound trip to Manhattan takes an hour and 10 minutes.

After Jan. 15, the southbound trips will start an hour earlier and the northbound trips an hour later.

On Saturdays, the peak point of operation, there are two northbound and three southbound trips.

Note: Routes 2, 12, and 18 have their last southbound trip terminate at Columbus Drive.

The southbound trip is 20 minutes apart.

There is also one southbound Limited trip on Saturdays.

Local, state and federal officials spoke during ceremonies at stations along the route during the train's southbound trip to Chicago.

This is to make it easier for C trains to terminate here, and turn around to make the southbound trip to Brooklyn.
