And Eastern is openly preparing to keep flying without any striking employees.

Instead, the homes continued to rely on replacement workers, saying they were concerned the striking employees would walk off their jobs again.

So the Harvard Club has gone to court to get its striking employees to pipe down.

"The most important thing to remember is that residents and board members should try to maintain friendly relations with the striking employees," he said.

The strike is likely to have its biggest impact on registration because about 100 of the striking employees process the forms, the officials said.

The paper's management and union, the Newspaper Guild, said they expected striking employees to return to work early next week.

But some other striking employees were not so sanguine.

In reporting earnings, Caterpillar said that almost all its striking employees had returned to work.

It and the electrical workers' union together represent nearly two-thirds of the striking employees.

But administrators said that for the most part, they and 200 temporary workers were able to do the jobs of the striking employees.
