America made a fundamental change in foreign policy after the 9/11 attacks: to support and spread democracy.

The speech articulated a lot of what needed to be done to support democracy in Russia.

"It would show that the American president supports democracy here."

The list includes such general points as the need to support democracy, rule of law and human rights.

"What we have seen is the international community coming together to support democracy."

"We say that we're here to support democracy," he said.

In order to do so, I believe a separate fund to support freedom and democracy is needed.

And today, all those who dragged their feet are pleased to support democracy there, but why did it have to take so long?

In short, it is easy to shoot anyone who may seem slightly suspicious because they support democracy.

"We wanted to show that there were people who supported democracy here," he said.
