The cooperative themselves created a management framework under which "535 ha (5%) out of the 11,113 ha of production forest, with an estimated timber volume of 21,400 m3, will be harvested over the next five years".

In this short period, approximately 1/5 of the forest was felled (about 1/4 by timber volume).

This is a response to sustainable management policies which encourage growth and entail the maintenance of forests, not at optimum timber volume but at optimum growth rates.

Mr. Brinkmeyer disputed how the timber volume was calculated and how it was appraised.

It is used to access information on timber volumes, site indexes, surveying and cruising data, reforestation, scaling, and other silvicultural information while in the field.

These trees are amongst the largest in the world, holding the record for the greatest timber volume of any tree.
