Currently the base is home to the majority of 7th Brigade units.

These are the only 2nd Brigade units for which pay roll records are available.

During 2002 the following units of the Brigade passed to other commands:

Brigade units also deployed numerous times in support of construction missions throughout this period.

During the war, the units of the 2nd Brigade suffered 7,988 casualties of which 3,958 were killed.

It is tasked with providing indirect fire support to 9th Brigade units.

Brigade units redeployed to Hanau in late 2003 and early 2004.

The ordinary boys in the Brigade units were more confident and able to cope with service in the war.

Subordinate units of the Brigade have been deploying to Iraq regularly.

Within 24 hours the remaining units of the 1st Brigade and the 3rd Brigade landed.
