In total about 35 different venues were used, with a majority of them being newly built specifically for the games.

In past years the venue has also been used for snooker.

The venue is also used for medium to large scale concerts and other events.

Various venues have been used for Royal weddings over the last century.

During the 1940s the venue was used to clean and repair rifles by local women.
