The creators have been making the same story for about 10 years; the viewers seem to be satisfied and there's no sense of urgency.

At every turn the viewer seems to step into an almost tangible environment with its own atmosphere, temperature, terrain and time of day.

And the six-year-old series' nearly 14 million viewers don't seem to mind.

They were called variety shows, and in that simpler age, viewers seemed to like them.
