The Lost City is nine miles from the nearest volcanic center.

Within this region, nearly 20 major volcanic centers lie in sequence like a string of explosive pearls.
Within this zone there are 44 major and 18 minor volcanic centers that are considered to be active.
The highest point of this small, isolated volcanic centre is the Totenkopf (557 metres).
The Yukon includes more than 100 separate volcanic centers that have been active during the Quaternary.
Black circles (20 km diameter) identify those volcanic centers composed of multiple individual edifices.
From about 900,000 years ago to the present, numerous andesitic volcanic centers in the area have come and disappeared through glacial erosion.
They comprise about 55 km of mainly basaltic material erupted from at least 40 volcanic centres.
