The first volume was issued in 11 parts, beginning in 1864.

The other four volumes will be issued over the next four months.

A single volume was issued in 1861, after which it appeared quarterly from 1884 to 1895.

The second volume of this work was issued in 1935.

Further volumes of the other series were expected to be reprinted, but have never actually been issued.

However, since then, no further volume has been issued.

The second half of the novel was not published until 1919, when both volumes were issued as a set.

As of 1 March 2013, however, no additional volumes have been issued.

More than 100 volumes have been issued since 1967.

Two other volumes were issued after his death in 1887 and 1894.
