By 1975 General became renowned all over Europe and was voted "Band of the year" in Hungary.

In February 1973, Slade were voted Best Live Band by the Disc Music Awards.

The band was voted "Best Band in Oxford" by readers of local music magazine "Local Support".

In 2010, New Life Crisis was voted "Best Band in the Hamptons" by "Hamptons.com"

In January 1987, a Rolling Stone reader poll voted them Best New American Band.

They were later voted "Band of the Summer" by the same magazine.

Additionally, the group was voted Band of the Year in 2009 by City Weekly, a popular Salt Lake City publication.

December: U2 is voted "Band of the Year" in the Rolling Stone magazine writer's poll.

Their first album was released by Columbia Records in 1972, and they were voted "Best New Band" by Creem magazine.

The Merseyside radio station Radio City voted Engine 'Best Local Band' for two years running in 1986 and 1987.
