Before we got here, they just had no reason to concern themselves with cooking.

The work may have to start with basic cooking and financial skills.

Residents help one another with cooking and other work as they are able.

As is often the case with cooking, it's best to start out slowly.

"I fell in love with cooking and never looked back," she said.

The least of what I've learned from her has to do with cooking.

"I'd be happy to help out with the shopping and cooking, things like that."

But the kitchen seems far more comfortable with Indian cooking.

"The problem we run into here is that too many Americans have no real familiarity with cooking," he said.
