As is the case with many small, early locomotives, we know little of their operating history.

The latter began service on 6 June 1879 with six locomotives.

However with more powerful locomotives coming into use, the work was only partly carried out.

The Depression hit the firm hard, with only two locomotives being delivered in 1934, 1935, 1936 and 1938.

Production peaked in 1906 with almost 400 locomotives built that year.

Regular services began on 2 November 1858 with 24 locomotives and 367 wagons.

In the event of fire, it might be safer, for example, with diesel locomotives.

Again, consideration was given to motive power, with new locomotives discussed.

After initial trial runs with only three locomotives, full service was introduced later in November.

Regular operation with electric locomotives was introduced on 25 November 1944.
