"We have so many people trying to make this a nice community, and for this to happen, I just don't understand it," he said.

Pragmatism does not rule out any theory about what makes a community better.

"We've been trying to say that houses alone don't make a community," he said.

This made the town an important community for business in the area.

"But these girls don't help us to make a better community."

We need young people on this island to make a complete community.

"God didn't bring you folks together to make a committee or a community," she said.

"We need to start making a community for ourselves."
